1. Not Medical Care, Therapy, Or Crisis Support
Andrum provides recorded audio practices and related materials for emotional regulation and body-based support.
Andrum is not a medical provider, psychotherapy service, psychiatric service, emergency service, or crisis intervention service.
Andrum materials do not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical, psychological, psychiatric, or relationship condition. They are not a substitute for therapy, medical care, medication, professional diagnosis, emergency care, or advice from a qualified professional.
2. If You Need Urgent Help
Do not use Andrum as your only support if you are in crisis.
If you feel unsafe, may harm yourself or someone else, are experiencing a medical emergency, or need urgent mental health support, contact local emergency services, a crisis hotline, or a qualified professional immediately.
3. Breathwork Safety
The Andrum SOS Practices include gentle and structured breathwork techniques such as extended exhale breathing, box breathing, physiological sighs, coherent breathing, walking breath, three-part breath, and Lion's Breath.
Even gentle breathing practices may feel uncomfortable or may not be suitable for everyone.
Stop the practice and return to natural breathing if you feel dizzy, lightheaded, overwhelmed, panicked, numb in a frightening way, short of breath, in pain, unsafe, or unwell.
4. Consult A Professional Before Use
Consult a qualified medical professional before using Andrum breathwork practices if any of the following apply to you:
- you are pregnant;
- you have a heart condition;
- you have high blood pressure;
- you have a history of stroke;
- you have epilepsy or a history of seizures;
- you have glaucoma or a retinal condition;
- you have current severe asthma symptoms;
- you have significant breathing difficulties;
- you recently had surgery;
- you have a recent injury or a condition where breath retention, strong breathing, or forceful exhale could be unsafe;
- you have a history of panic attacks that are easily triggered by changes in breathing;
- you have a psychiatric condition that may be affected by breathwork or body-based practices;
- you have a trauma history that may be activated by body awareness, breathwork, stillness, or guided emotional practices;
- you are unsure whether breathwork is safe for you.
If in doubt, do not force the practice. Ask a qualified professional first.
5. Practice-Specific Safety Notes
The Andrum materials include these practice-specific safety notes:
- If physiological sighs make you lightheaded, return to natural breathing and move directly to gentle 4-6 breathing.
- If box breathing holds feel uncomfortable, shorten the holds or remove them entirely.
- If extended exhale breathing feels strained, use a shorter exhale and do not force the breath.
- If walking outdoors is not safe or available, do the walking practice indoors or choose another practice.
- If freeze or numbness feels heavy, go slowly and do not push yourself to feel more.
- Lion's Breath is not recommended if you have a current eye, ear, or jaw injury.
- If Lion's Breath makes you dizzy or very lightheaded, return to natural breathing immediately.
6. Your Body Leads
Do not use forceful breathing, long breath holds, or intense effort unless a qualified professional has confirmed it is appropriate for you.
The practices are designed to be soft, guided, and adjustable. If a count, rhythm, position, sound, movement, or body focus does not feel right, modify it or stop.
You are allowed to pause at any time.
7. Emotional Responses
Breathwork and body-based practices can sometimes bring up unexpected emotions, memories, tears, anger, fear, numbness, or discomfort.
This does not mean you are doing anything wrong. It also does not mean you should push through.
If a practice feels too intense, stop and seek support from a trusted person or qualified mental health professional.
8. No Guaranteed Outcomes
Andrum does not guarantee any specific emotional, physical, relational, psychological, or health result.
Testimonials, product descriptions, and examples reflect individual experiences. They are not promises that you will experience the same result.
9. Personal Responsibility
By using Andrum practices, you acknowledge that you are responsible for your own physical and emotional safety and for deciding whether the practices are appropriate for you.
Use the practices only in a safe environment. Do not use them while driving, operating machinery, crossing streets, or doing anything that requires full attention.
